Billy Joel - "Movin' Out" (LIVE in 1978) - Song of the Day - [6/2/15]

This is a beautiful song from a legend in music, Billy Joel. "Movin' Out" tells a great story about how relationships and situations change, and then at a certain point it's time to move out. This seems fitting to me because I may have to move again soon. The Piano Man is such a pro, and most of his music is simply outstanding. Get groovy today and jam out to classic Billy Joel music.

Ash Reynolds - "Mysterious Vibe" - Song of the Day - 4/17/2015 [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Happy Funky Friday everyone! Today's Song of the Day comes from one of London's finest, Ash Reynolds, master of groove and funk. This particular jam, "Mysterious Vibe," is his latest publication, released about a month ago on his SoundCloud. I myself first heard it on Future Beats Radio 076 W mix featuring Stooki Sound and DJ Bluz as the show's opening track, and I needed to hear more of his chill, funky vibes.
Reynolds has been in the game for ten years now, spinning behind decks across the world. Half of his career has since been involved in the production side of music, incorporating funk and hip-hop beats into his sound that just makes you want to disco dance immediately.
This latest installment, however, is by far my favorite. Just as the cover art implicates, this song is perfect for a long summer drive with the windows down and the breeze flowing. What better way to do that than on this fine Friday day?

Daryl Hall & John Oates - "I Can't Go For That" - SOTD - [3/3/15]

https://ludditestereo.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/hall-and-oates.png
This was as classy as it got back in 1983. It's the massive track "I Can't Go For That" by Daryl Hall and John Oates. These guys pumped out a huge collection of hits for three decades starting back in in the early 70's. Hall and Oates would record six No. 1 hits on the Billboard hot 100 charts with "Maneater", "Rich Girl", "Kiss On My List", "Private Eyes", "Out of Touch", and this song too. Just last year they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. I became a big fan of the group after seeing them perform live at the former Pine Knob Amphitheater in Clarkston, Michigan back in the 90's. I didn't even realize prior to going, but many of their songs I knew the words to, and they sounded impeccable playing live. So get groovy today with "I Can't Go For That" one of the many funk/jazz songs from the legendary Daryl Hall and John Oates.

100s - "Ten Freaky Hoes" - Song Of The Day - 1/9/2015

Who doesn't enjoy the company of ten freaky hoes? 100s is definitely no exception, releasing this ballad about the likes of Michelle, Portia, Donna, and Mia (that bitch tried to steal his conditioner.) His beautiful ice cold perm is only one of the many wonderful things about this California-born rapper who signed with Fools Gold Records in June 2013. Since then, his music has advanced into a much groovier, g-funk based production, this particular single a perfect depiction of such, making you feel like you're bouncing down the streets of Brooklyn in the 80s. This rapper is only going to continue to grow, along with his stick straight luscious locks; his single "Life of a Mack" was featured in the soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto V. He went on tour with Kreayshawn and performed five shows at SXSW in 2013. A free EP titled Ivry is said to be released this upcoming year. Take a listen below and immerse yourself in the life of this self-proclaimed third-world mack.
