Dethklok - "Thunderhorse" - Song of the Day - (2/3/15)

http://www.wallpaper4me.com/images/wallpapers/dethklok-340893.jpeg
Dethklok is a virtual super group with a following 100 times bigger than the Beatles. They are so famous that fans are willing to be slaughtered to death at their shows! The band is a cartoon animation from the show Metalocalypse on Adult Swim, the most cutting edge channel on cable TV in my opinion. Despite the band being a facade their heavy metal is very real, and it rips. The music is created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha, and they make fast paced metal straight from the depths of hell. There are now three albums as a result of growing popularity for the show, and they preform live with a special type of stage show including graphics of the characters to accompany the music. The band is comprised of front man Nathan Explosion, lead guitarist Skwisgaar Skwigelf, rhythm guitarist Toki Wartooth, bassist William Murderface, and drummer Pickles. The TV show lets us into the bands life off the stage and we find out just how different they are from their on-stage personalities. It's an absolutely hilarious depiction of how life would be in that situation. Metal is a very niche genre these days, but when comedy is added in the lyrics and in random scenarios on the show you can help but love it. This song is called "Thunderhorse" and this video is the original pilot, if you will, that would result in the show Metalocalypse, now one of the fan favorites on Adult Swim. You can stream the full Dethklok catalog on spotify here.

Marilyn Manson - "Tourniquet" - Song of the Day - (12/2/14)

Marilyn Manson is a hard person to understand, but if you can get past his breast implants and such you'll find an incredible talent. This is a song that resonates with me, and it was also a popular song even though it may be a bit taboo. Metal music was once the hardest shit on the planet, and Marilyn Manson represents the most unique side of metal. There are incredible stories of total self hatred involved with Marilyn Manson music, he is one of the truest goth individuals ever to reach stardom. If you have never given the band Marilyn Manson a chance for whatever reason, you are missing out on the most original rock music out there. It's full of real emotion and intense guitar, bass, and drums, the vocals are an added flavor unlike any other band. Check out more from Marilyn Manson by liking and following the band on Facebook here.

HIM - "Pretending" - Song of the Day - [10/5/14]

http://gothicscenemalta.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/HIM.jpgHIM is an intense gothic rock band from Finland with a ton of great music. If you have seen any of the Bam Margera films - Ming Hags, Haggard, or the CKY movies they all use HIM music within the score. HIM is one of the only bands that goes into hard metal and also deep ballad type tracks. The lead singer Ville Valo is very smooth with his vocals, different than a lot of other rock bands where the singer puts on a tough guy voice. "Pretending" come from the album Deep Shadows & Brilliant Highlights released in Finland back in August of 2001. HIM has a total of 8 full length albums to date, go check out more from HIM here on spotify.

Rage Against The Machine is, in my opinion, one of the best bands of all time. Here is their timeless classic "Bulls on Parade" off of "Evil Empire"

I See Stars - "Violent Bounce" Song of the Day [4/6/14]

With the speed and ferocity of metal and a little distorted bass, you can't really go wrong. Turn it UP!!
