Nahko - "Build a Bridge" (Live) Song of the Day (3/21/2015)

For today's song of the day, I'm going to throw out a track that has been playing on repeat in my head for about a week now by Nahko Bear of Nahko and Medicine for the People called "Build a Bridge." Now, I picked this song for a number of reasons. For one, it's a kickass song.

The other reason is I'm trying to look out for y'all on this Saturday morning. Maybe you went out last night and had a few too many. Its ok, I understand. You worked all week and the bar was calling your name. It happens. Lucky for you and your throbbing headache, the chorus in this song is extremely soothing. It will help you remember all that is good and right in the world. Let it take you to a far off place, away from that last shot of whiskey that you thought was a good idea last night but totally regret today. Nahko's vocals are a thing of beauty and so are his lyrics. For the other folks tuning in that didn't destroy their liver last night, enjoy the hip-hop flare in this song. The verses in this song are very powerful and will be sure to get you pumped and excited for your day. The lyrics speak of building a bridge with each other in an effort to come to peace. Enjoy.

Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc. - Song of the Day - [11/10/14]

This classic tune paved the way for a completely different style of music with a video to match. Gorillaz always seem to  have a creative way of doing things with their concerts and videos that seems to wow viewers time and time again. Their episode on MTV Cribs was all animated as well! It was also recently announced that there will be more coming from them. An Album said to be dropped in 2016 is one highly anticipated. For more recent news check out their official website.

Citizen Cope - "Let The Drummer Kick" - Song of the Day - (10/6/14)

The simplest things sometimes hold the most meaning and in this case, that is very true. As many would believe, this is just a list of words sharing a stem, but when looked at closely the story within takes shape. The calm voice of Clarence Greenwood lies upon the acoustics he has come to trademark through the years. This solo act touches the hearts of many with his inspirational words and soothing presence. With his tour currently in action, make sure to check for tickets in a city near you!

Jimi Hendrix "12 String Blues" - Song of the Day [12/12/13]

Arguably the best guitar player ever to set foot on the planet Earth, Jimi Hendrix plays his 12 string acoustic guitar in some of the best video we've ever seen of him.  His electric guitar skills may be that of legend, but his acoustic skills are not to be trifled with either.  The man can take a 12 string guitar and make it do things most guitarists never dreamed possible.  For today's Song of the Day we get a solo acoustic 5 minutes of Jimi, stuff like this doesn't come around too often.  Enjoy.

STS9 - "Axe the Cables" (Live Acoustic 12.29.2009) - Set of the Day [12/9/13]

"In December of 2009, STS9 sat down in one of America’s most pristine modern opera houses on a chilly night in Denver, CO to create the inaugural “Axe The Cables… An Evening of STS9″. What this night encompasses is one of, if not the most flawless STS9 event in the bands decade plus history. The entire show was played, for the most part, sans all “electric” gear including the common stage instrumentation of laptops our fans have grown quite accustomed to. To say the event was a hit is an understatement. It was a night legends are made of. So much so the band has decided to re-cut, re-mix, and re-master this into one massive release."
