Aphex Twin - "Little Funny Man" - Song of the Day - [6-24-15]

Growing up I couldn't ever get enough of the odd music Aphex Twin put into the world. Richard D. James was way ahead of his time and he probably always will be. "Little Funny Man" was definitely one of my favorites from the album Come To Daddy. There are so many things going on in all of his productions but I would describe this song as twisted, funky, and brilliant. So, "Come on little funny man" lets indulge in Aphex Twin and remember our roots.

Vitalic - "Second Lives" - Song of the Day - [4/18/15]

For today we have a cool melodic song from Pascal Arbez-Nicolas aka Vitalic. This track is called "Second Lives" and it has a simple beat with just the right amount of intrigue. This is a very odd music video and also the bands official representation for the song. It shows a number of different scenarios that all take place in a bathroom stall. It's weird how the same area can make one claustrophobic and at the same time others might utilize the space for a lusty or perverted experience. The song is awesome, a true heartbeat type of track of a progressive format with a lot of cool sounds. Vitalic has a very creative musical style and he also sells interesting merchandise with his logo the upside down triangle which can be purchased here.

Metronomy - "Corrine" - Song of the Day [8-31-14]

Metronomy is what I like to call hipster rock, for the most part that label might imply some sort of stigma, but not with this band they kill it. They make music perfect for the emo kids on South Park to groove out to with individual odd dances. "Corrine" is my favorite song by Metronomy, but they have a lot of really cool retro sounding rock music. On the Official Metronomy Youtube channel you can listen to full albums like The English Riveria which includes the track "Corrine." Rock out to the hipster rock stylings of Metronomy, and have a chill Sunday.

Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - "Bright Lit Blue Skies" - SOTD [6-24-14]

This is one of the sneakiest indie-rock bands around, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti. Their music is very retro with a production quality that makes it almost sound like a classic rock era band. This song "Bright Lit Blue Skies" comes from their 2010 album called Before Today. Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti has a variety of angles to their music, some songs are more drugged out and some are very well put together and tight. Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti is a total throwback to simpler times, and that is always a good feeling.
