PYLOT - "After Dark"

This is a red hot funk jam from PYLOT a completely new artist on Monstercat. His story isn't a rehashing of some played out cliche, but in fact a mental scavenger hunt to regain his identity. The artist known as PYLOT is a mystery, and an intriguing narrative is about to unfold through musical productions and journal entries. PYLOT is only how he recognizes himself now after having entirely lost all of his memories as a result of an incident. It is going to be fascinating to follow this unknown man as he attempts to put his puzzle back together. Read journal entries on the Official PYLOT Facebook for more clues about who he might be. And peep the Official PYLOT Soundcloud for more music that may lead to more information about who PYLOT really is.

Muse - "Hysteria" LIVE - Song of the Day - [10-13-14]

Muse puts on one of the best live performances in the rock genre, so I had to share a live video. They are a very complete band, some songs are so rich with a musical story it's almost like watching a film, just all audible. This song "Hysteria" come from the album Absolution. I love this bass line it's very difficult to play and it's completely vital to the song, normally the drummer keeps the beat but not on the song "Hysteria" everyone follows the bass. Muse really blew up in America when the song "Knights of Cydonia" hit every rock radio station back in 2006. Every Muse album is a masterpiece, they are a very well established and highly skilled group of friends with fame all over the world and rightfully so, they rock!

MF Doom - "?" - Song of the Day - [9/29/14]

MF Doom has a vast vocabulary, making his rhymes so unique. He tells awesome stories from the perspective of a super villian. On stage MF Doom remains somewhat anonymous wearing his metal mask, it has become a symbol for him and his music. It's really difficult to write rhymes like MF Doom, he rarely talks about himself as I, he speaks from a third person point of view. The more you listen to MF Doom the more you will want to hear, he is an addicting musician. There is a lot to be found when searching the name MF Doom, he has made a huge library of beats, some instrumentals and some with brilliant lyrics.

Despot - "Crap Artists" - Song of the Day - [9/24/14]

http://drowsyculture.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/despot.jpg
Most people don't know Despot, but those that do spread the word because he is so fresh. The lyrics Despot puts together create such a good flow, he constructs bars where the syllables match up to previous patterns all while staying on point with a perfect description or story. Despot represents the underground New York rap scene hard as fuck, one of the finest in the big city. This song "Crap Artists" has the illest hip-hop beat ever, the track comes from a compilation disk by the label Definitive Jux called Time Travel Vol. 1 a killer collection of underground lyricists. Definitive Jux is a baller hip-hop label founded by El-P. Go check out more from Despot if you can find more, he is super underground. Peep the official Definitive Jux Soundcloud, and dig deep on Youtube for more Despot gold. I haven't found a track with Despot on the mic that's not amazing.

Big L - "Put It On" - Song of the Day - (9-15-14)

Big L was a legend, and he was taken from us too soon. He tells amazing stories of the streets growing up in Harlem, New York. Back in 1999 Big L was shot in a drive by shooting which turned out to be fatal. He lives on today through his amazing music. Before that terrible day, Big L was busy launching his own record label Flamboyant Entertainment, and putting it down old school. If you don't know the story of Big L just listen to his music and he will fill you in himself, he was one of the best story tellers ever in hip-hop.

The Presets - "Girl And The Sea" - Song of the Day [7-17-14]

http://australiangothicindustrialmusic.com/bands/images/The-Presets-album-cover-Blow-Up-jpg.jpg
Check out an absolutely beautiful video for the song "Girl And The Sea" by The Presets. This song tells the mystical tale of a girl raised in the wild and when she grows up she becomes a mermaid. The story is told starting from climax for the first verse as he girl escapes into the sea. The second verse comes back to the beginning talking about the girl as a baby. Each chorus has different lyrics, although the melody used in singing the story is the same. I love The Presets, they make very deep and interesting music. It's really cool to see a music video like this one, it really adds a lot to the song.
