PYLOT - "Blurred Vision"

He's back! PYLOT the mystery producer from Monstercat has a vintage sounding jam called "Blurred Vision" that just dropped last week. Also more of his story is remembered as he begins to recall bit a pieces of his memories. I am in love with this very difficult puzzle PYLOT has unveiled these last few months. The retro feel with this song is a throwback to Knight Rider and awesome 80s sounding themes. Read PYLOT's descriptions and check out the latest journal entry in the image below and maybe you can figure out just who PYLOT really is.

Grant Bowtie - Clockwork - Song of the Day - 5/8/2015

Grant Bowtie, an electronic producer living and working out of San Diego, California, brings us on a journey with this high- energy progressive electro track, "Clockwork." This track is the latest publication on his Soundcloud, having been released last November. Grant Bowtie is a signed artist of the Canadian label Monstercat, along with the notorious likes of producers such as Pegboard Nerds, San Holo, and Case and Point.
This particular track is one for the books - it's ethereal melodies mixed with lively and powerful chords makes for a fantastic, aesthetic experience. However, it seems like most if not all of his work does this. I admired him from the first time I heard "Facets," which was released in March of last year, as well as his other breathtaking track "LED."
I am hoping he is currently working on a project that will be released soon, because he is just too good for the long wait.

PYLOT - "Flashbacks"

Here's the latest music from the most mysterious new artist on Monstercat, it's PYLOT. He has an awesome nu-funk style on this track "Flashbacks" and his story is furthered a bit more with a second journal entry. The story of PYLOT is still unfolding before our eyes and ears through amazing music, and another cool aspect is the artwork that accompanies each song too. In the new image we see PYLOT gazing at a ring he found in his jacket. He's still trying to regain his lost identity and piece together his flashbacks into a more complete understanding of who he is. I for one am enamored by PYLOT and I have a feeling that he will become a very big name in electronic music.

PYLOT - "After Dark"

This is a red hot funk jam from PYLOT a completely new artist on Monstercat. His story isn't a rehashing of some played out cliche, but in fact a mental scavenger hunt to regain his identity. The artist known as PYLOT is a mystery, and an intriguing narrative is about to unfold through musical productions and journal entries. PYLOT is only how he recognizes himself now after having entirely lost all of his memories as a result of an incident. It is going to be fascinating to follow this unknown man as he attempts to put his puzzle back together. Read journal entries on the Official PYLOT Facebook for more clues about who he might be. And peep the Official PYLOT Soundcloud for more music that may lead to more information about who PYLOT really is.

7 Minutes Dead - "Sidewinder" - Song of the Day - (12/16/14)

This is a bomb track right off the bat from 7 Minutes Dead. The glitch yawns and killer beat please my ears, and especially when so brilliantly patterned. "Sidewinder" will take you on a journey into an electronic funk tunnel of sonic delight, bending and adapting into different dimensions. It comes from the self titled debut EP 7 Minutes Dead released on Monstercat in 2013. He has a bunch of awesome releases already, and a superb taste for crisp electronic sounds. Stay on the up and up with 7 Minutes Dead through his official website here.

Nitro Fun - "New Game" - Song of the Day [5-6-14]

One of my most recent obsessions is this very young producer Gustavo Rangel aka Nitro Fun. Gustavo is just 16 years old hailing from Mexico and he has already released music with the label Monstercat, a huge name in EDM. He describes his music as Funplextro, which is fitting with his complex layers of melodies and fun Nintendo sounds. If you like chiptune or 8-bit music you have to check out more of Nitro Fun, he is quickly becoming one of my favorite producers.

Case & Point - "Savage"

The word "Savage" brings a lot to mind but what is it to be savage? Primitive, uncivilized, fierce, violent, all words representing what some might find a negative thing, are actually showing the incomparable qualities of the song Case & Point has brought upon us. Although, to most, savage may come off giving someone indifferent feelings but we have been shown that savage can be found in the beauty of many things. Listen to the "Savage" through the ears of Case & Point and decide for yourself what this word will mean to you.

Au5 & Fractal - "Secret Weapon" EP

Baltimore based producer, Fractal, and New Jersey native, Au5, teamed up to bring us a the 4 track EP, Secret Weapon. The EP starts off with "Blue", a hard hitting drumstep (Drum & Bass meets Dubstep) that masterfully utilized oscillators and synths to maintain a beautiful rythm throughout the composition that perfectly segues into the dirty bass. The EP then transitions into "Dreaming" which utilizes delicate vocals and simple bells behind a bass-line that will get you grooving. This tranquility is lost at the 2:00 mark when some pounding, high energy, glitch influenced house bass comes in. Third up is the title track of the EP, "Secret Weapon." Initially the song is pretty melodic but that is quickly lost into some hardcore rumbling dubstep bass and laser sounding synths. The song utilizes some progressive and trance elements in the middle break that is paired with the dubstep in a way not utilized often, which makes this a unique and powerful track. The track "Smoke" brings us home closing out the EP. The deep house initiation is paired with synths that climb in octave until the powerful glitch-laden electro-house drop. This is definitely my favorite track on this EP.   Production was surely not on the back-burner for this duo while slaving away in the lab creating this monster of a release that perfectly displays the talents of these two rising stars. The EP is out now on Monstercat.
