SrRealist - "Credulity" - Album of the Day - 3/11/15 [FREE DOWNLOAD]

SrRealist is a South Dakota based producer that I happen to be pretty good friends with. I had known he was making music in his spare time and had a history as a musician, but then one conversation led to another and he agreed to let me premiere his EP, Credulity, through this very blog a year ago this month. I find this EP evokes emotion in the listener and carries them along meticulously crafted soundscapes into a different plane of musical enjoyment. Yeah, let's go with that.

"The following is a smattering of tracks that were imagined, written, assembled, recorded

and mixed over the course of a couple years while I dove feet first into digital music 

production. Having only a background in guitar, I became increasingly excited as to what

the start that im happy with. I hope to move on and further my understanding in this realm and

20syl gives us his take on the French singer Yelle's summer single, "Complètement Fou" - which translates to "Completely Crazy." He shifts pitches and chops and screws the vocals for a much groovier, trippier experience. He also brilliantly bangs out some bells and whistles, enough to sound like you're playing the best game of Nintendo ever. However, I expect nothing less from 20syl, also a French artist, who's been producing beats since 1995, first kicking off in the group Hocus Pocus, created under his own vision. Now, he gave us a stellar remix of "Montana" by another San Francisco based musician, Christopher Willits - who just got finished supporting Tycho throughout their 'Awake World Tour.' The artwork incorporates the single covers from his 'Opening' album. The track will be one of four new remixes featured on the Awake (Deluxe Version) available digitally on Tuesday, December 16th - streaming free below.

Unquestionably one of the more memorable moments from the weekend was when The Werks, along with Dopapod and Papadosio, played Pink Floyd's legendary album, Dark Side of the Moon, in it's entirety. Yup, the whole thing; and to make it even more impressive, they were only off on timing by about a minute. Just turn this on and enjoy friends :)
