If you want something to set off the nostalgia feels hit up Mega Ran. The style is a hybrid between chiptune and hip-hop, and it's so dope for the old school gamers. Often times you can hear bits and pieces of midi tracks used in the Mega Man games for the original Nintendo Entertainment System. The mastermind of Mega Ran is Raheem Jarbo, and he has a bunch of guest producers and musicians who collaborate under the Mega Ran name. Go to the official Mega Ran website for the latest on music releases and more.

Tipper - "Covered in Lobsters" - Song of the Day (6/13/15)

Today's song of the day comes straight from mind of electronic and glitch-hop mastermind David Tipper, or Tipper for short.

"Covered in Lobsters" comes off of Tipper's 2011 EP "Bubble Control." Tipper has been known to dabble in all sorts of strange sounds to get his desired outcome, this song in particular is more of his glitch-hop, dance style. Enjoy!

7 Minutes Dead - "Sidewinder" - Song of the Day - (12/16/14)

This is a bomb track right off the bat from 7 Minutes Dead. The glitch yawns and killer beat please my ears, and especially when so brilliantly patterned. "Sidewinder" will take you on a journey into an electronic funk tunnel of sonic delight, bending and adapting into different dimensions. It comes from the self titled debut EP 7 Minutes Dead released on Monstercat in 2013. He has a bunch of awesome releases already, and a superb taste for crisp electronic sounds. Stay on the up and up with 7 Minutes Dead through his official website here.

Pyramyth - "Taco Bass" - Song of the Day - [11/4/14]

I love when a track is so good it just goes straight into a drop. That's sort of what Pyramyth does here for "Taco Bass" although this song has lots of drops and they progressively get sicker. William Gonzalez is Pyramyth and he represents Guadalajara, Mexico proud with a huge sound and mean beats. He has a few styles mastered, on the Pharoah EP he showcases his glitch skills, each track is intense and hard. Pyramyth has a shitload of awesome music, you can't help but bob your head to his melodies.  The whole Pyramyth Soundcloud is stocked up with monster bangers, some glitch, dubstep, drum n bass, electro, complextro, and all with one thing in common; sicko bass!

Kendrick Lamar - Swimming Pool (Unlimited Gravity Remix) [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Up and coming future glitch artist Unlimited Gravity just released his latest remix only two hours ago, and this time it's of the critically acclaimed Platinum Certified, "Swimming Pool'" by rapper, Kendrick Lamar. Unlimited Gravity starts off the remix just like the original tune, but as the track progresses, we start to hear his signature chainsaw wobbles fading in. When the beat drops, we hear a flawless fusion of Kendrick's mid-range vocals, thick crunchy synths, wobbly dubstep basslines, and a solid hip-hop beat. The most attractive part of this remix, however, is that it progresses like a story; there is no constant repetition like in many other hip-hop remixes. What we see instead is constant, but seamless, change. A steady wave of tension which leads to a satisfying, monumental end.

Savant - "Amerika" [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Savant is at it again, less than a month after Orakel was released he already has plans to release another album. The new album for now remains untitled and is in production, but here's a first taste with a track called "Amerika". Some interesting samples are used which may lead one to believe Savant is making fun of the stupidity of the average American. I can't say he is wrong about that, but more importantly the music is incredible. This track goes into a very fast BPM somewhere in the drum and bass realm. Although, as always, Savant is able to generate a completely new feel for a genre with intense glitches placed perfectly within his twisted musical measures. "Amerika" is available to download for free through Savant's soundcloud page under his real name Aleksander Vinter.

Okiru - Golden Age (Prismatic Remix)

Yesterday, Prismatic released his remix of Okiru's Golden Age. Like many other Prismatic songs and remixes, Golden Age is broken down and layered with lush melodies and floating synths. Starting with a sweeping synth and heavily filtered percussion, Prismatic lays the framework for a very uplifting drum n bass tune. During the buildup, he continues the atmospheric nature of the tune; however, as the bass drops, so do the synths. Prismatic completely removes all high frequencies and flawlessly adds a heavy, fuzzy bass-line. Pretty sexy all around, definitely worth adding to your collection.

BAR9 - "Brave New World" EP

BAR9 return with their latest EP, 'Brave New World' via Never Say Die Records. "BAR9 said "The 'Brave New World' EP is a collection of tunes which we're happy to have put together. Some tracks are a bit more experimental than what we usually put out, but that's what writing music is all about right? Our Collaboration with Datsik was an idea we had when we were on tour in the U.S. together. We decided to put the wheels in motion soon after we got back and 'Droid' is the outcome We wanted it to be dark and melodic and contain the BAR9 & Datsik sound combined. We also wanted to be able to drop it in our sets and it work on the dance floor. The track progresses all the way through to the end almost taking the listener on a journey. 'Aurora' has evolved from a track which we have had floating around on our hard drive for a year or so. It has taken many forms but this is the version we decided to put on the release. 'Encounter' is a favourite as it doesn't necessarily fit into a genre and isn't really for the clubs. It's an 80s synthy kinda track which still contains a good driving bass line."" All the tracks on this EP are awesome and we definitely recommend picking them up asamfp. ;)

Phutureprimitive - "Lucid Dream" - Music Video

After four months of waiting, Lucid Dream and its official music video had finally dropped at midnight today, and yes, it was well worth the wait!

Rain, who goes under the stage name, Phutureprimitive is an electronic artist who is a guru within the psychedelic glitch scene. He describes his music as 'dripping wet love drops of nasty mind melting sonic bliss'.
In 2004 when he released his debut LP Sub Conscious, Phutureprimitive strived to create a sound that combined the psychedelic trance elements evident in early Shpongle and Ott works with glitchy percussion and ambient, lush melodies. The result was a sound that is dark at first listen but also induces tranquility within the mind.
His next releases Kinetic and Searching For Beauty in the Darkest Places are more bass heavy and have much more of a dance-like aura to it. While most of his tunes on these albums remained within the classic dubstep 140-150 BPM range, they was chopped and structured in a way to create a slow-dance sensual vibe. These two works were much more emotional and sensual than Sub Conscious; however, they still maintained the signature hypnotic downtempo tone evident in the debut.

In mid 2013, Phutureprimitive aimed to something very different with his work. He teamed up with production team Vinton Depiction and visual effects artist Michael Miller to create a music video which would narrate his search for beauty in a post apocalyptic future, while he is guided by his girlfriend Caeli La who takes the form of a holographic spirit. The theme of Lucid Dream was to show how the endless clash between technology and nature can be solved through art, it being a bridge between these two forces. What was the end result? A well crafted and skillfully produced work of art that completely encompasses the emotional meaning forged deep within the Phutureprimitive sound.
Unlike older tunes which had very glitched up bass kicks, Lucid Dream has a four-to-the-floor house groove; however, Phutureprimitive still manages to tear all dance music conventions apart. His vocals and lush melodies seem to float effortlessly above the glitchy percussion and mid-frequency bass line.

Lucid Dream at its core exudes tranquility and hope. It is an auditory and visual experience that conveys the idea that even in the darkest of places, beauty can still be found and embraced. What makes it even better, the $12,000 it took to make the video was raised by the Phutureprimitive community, a testament to the generosity and support of his devout fans. Phutureprimitive - "Darkness" (Faded Mix) - Song of the Day - (10/19/13)

Today's Song of the Day brings us to the not well recognized Glitch scene within electronica. Phutureprimitive, one of the best artists of the scene, released his Faded mix of his downtempo song Darkness a few years ago. In this song, Phutureprimitive merges the slow psychedelic tone of downtempo dub with bass-heavy dance music. The synthesis is flawless.
Phutureprimitive is currently on his Dance Out Your Demons Tour and is selling out shows at most of the stops. I highly recommend if you are in the area to go to one of his shows as you will be blown away by what he calls dripping wet love drops of nasty mind melting sonic bliss.
