Fetty Wap - Trap Queen - Song of the Day - 3/13/2015

I had no idea who Fetty Wap was until I looked up his new hit song "Trap Queen" on Shazam the other day, and since then, I have claimed it as my new theme song. In many interviews, the 24 year-old Paterson, N.J. native says it's the first song he's actually sang in; all of his songs beforehand he had focused on rapping. Now, he's working hard on his new mixtape that will soon be released, consisting of rap and vocals over trap beats that he says will be both turn up and vibe songs.
Fetty is a unique face to the rap and hip hop scene: He lost his left eye as a child in an accident that he doesn't clearly remember and doesn't seem to want to, but that incident left him with glaucoma and the loss of his eye. However, it doesn't seem to phase him. His powerful voice and openness about who he is proves a stong and stable confidence that will help him grow in his career.
Fetty has already gotten praise and popularity with this hit song, landing him in the top 15 on Billboard, and even a co-sign from Kayne West, who brought Fetty onstage to perform with him at a concert in New York this past February.
Look out for the Fetty: The Mixtape release coming soon, and you can take a peak at the official video for "Trap Queen" below!

Outsidaz - "The Rah Rah" - Song of the Day - (12-23-14)

http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140426031608/lyricwiki/images/e/e0/Outsidaz_-_Night_Life.jpg I first heard of Outsidaz through early freestyles and collaborations with Eminem. There is a song featuring Eminem on Night Life called "Rush Ya Clique" that pounds with sick battle rhymes and humorous hate. The band is a huge group of ill rappers and producers including: Pacewon, D.U., Young Zee, Rah Digga, Axe, Az Izz, DJ Muhammed, Denzy, Loon One, DJ Spunk, S. Coop, Nawshis, and the late Slang Ton, Bskills and Yah Yah. You get a feel for the hard Newark, New Jersey streets listening to Outsidaz spit sick story raps. Both of the two Outsidaz albums are hype. You can stream their albums at these links Night Life and The Bricks.

Redman - "Pick It Up" - Song of the Day - (10/8/14)

Reggie Noble aka Redman is truly the most hilarious of all hip hop lyricists. He represents the brick city - Newark, New Jersey - and he tells his side of the hard streets. Redman is a proud marijuana aficionado, he and Method Man have a film called How High which is probably the second best stoner film ever created after Half Baked. "Pick It Up" comes from the third Redman album Muddy Waters released back in December of 1996, a record that went gold in just three months! Despite being a goofball Redman is rather intelligent, his lyrical flow is one of the most impersonated in the game. His bars are timeless, almost a 20 year old album still has you "Humpin and a bumpin in yo jeeps." Back in the day Redman was all about Def Jam Records, and Def Squad, now his crew is Gilla House. You can check out the Official Redman Website for more music, movies, and awesome merchandise.
