Vexare - "Polar" - Song of the Day - (2/21/15)

This is an awesome song by Palmer Hogen or as you probably know him Vexare. He's a young producer out of the Los Angeles area continuing to amaze the electronic music community with his intense melodic tracks. This song "Polar" shows off some of Vexare's piano skills. He is very adept in carefully placing sounds and samples into his productions to where they perfectly compliment the whole piece. You can check out more from Vexare on spoitify here.

Tristam - "My Friend"

This is a new one from Tristam perfect for a lazy Sunday lounge session. He brings a totally fresh style with this track, I might call it chill-step or something like that. "My Friend" also includes excellent vocals, possibly from Tristam himself as no vocalist is featured in the title. This is the most recent Monstercat release, they have a lot of talent at the Monstercat record label, in all facets of electronic music. Go check out Tristam and Monstercat for more awesome music.

Pyramyth - "Taco Bass" - Song of the Day - [11/4/14]

I love when a track is so good it just goes straight into a drop. That's sort of what Pyramyth does here for "Taco Bass" although this song has lots of drops and they progressively get sicker. William Gonzalez is Pyramyth and he represents Guadalajara, Mexico proud with a huge sound and mean beats. He has a few styles mastered, on the Pharoah EP he showcases his glitch skills, each track is intense and hard. Pyramyth has a shitload of awesome music, you can't help but bob your head to his melodies.  The whole Pyramyth Soundcloud is stocked up with monster bangers, some glitch, dubstep, drum n bass, electro, complextro, and all with one thing in common; sicko bass!

Zomboy - "Skull 'n' Bones"

Whoa, this new Zomboy track is so hard! "Skull 'n' Bones" is going to be on the new Zomboy album The Outbreak set to release next week on August 4th through Never Say Die Records, pre-order by following the link. There's a little bit of everything in this song, it starts off with a lil trap intro leading into drum and bass and then an all out dubstep drop. Zomboy doesn't mess around, his style is loud and intense robotic glitch dub and that's how we like it!

Virtual Riot - "Evil Gameboy" - Song of the Day [4-15-14]

Valentin Brunn aka Virtual Riot is a young producer from Germany with an amazing ear for electronic music. Virtual Riot is one of my favorite dubstep artists right now. "Evil Gameboy" dabbles into some of the Nintendo sounds I'm always a sucker for and a lot more. Virtual Riot is one of a few incredible artists representing Section Z Records. Go check out more Virtual Riot music, it's electrifying and highly addictive. You can access his soundcloud page here.

Secret Panda Society is a production duo consisting of Rob Stern and Joe Benny. Their latest EP titled Kaleidoscope is an amazing four songs from a few different sub-genres of EDM. The new EP dabbles in glitch-hop, trap, drum n bass, and some drum-step too. So many sub-genres of EDM are done well by Secret Panda Society. The new EP Kaleidoscope is excellent, and I suggest you go peep it out right now.

Roksonix with Brown and Gammon @ Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom - Denver, CO (11-30-13) [Review]

Review by:
Justin D'Amico

The Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom was pounding grimy bass all night for the most recent Rebudz Presents show. The line up brought together artists from all over to give the Denver dubstep scene a night to remember. Roksonix along with Brown and Gammon co-headlined representing the UK and Circus Records. Jantsen and Tyro are both from Colorado and Midnight Tyrannosaurus is out of Florida. Dirt Monkey, another Colorado based producer was also in the building supporting Jantsen. The artists went well together having a similar musical style, mostly dubstep, but everyone brought their own flavor to the stage.
Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom is a medium sized venue in Denver, with a capacity of about one thousand people including the balcony. The layout is essentially just one room with a main dance floor and a balcony around the outside. For this show vendors set up booths with crafts and other merchandise under the balcony. The show filled Cervantes about half way, but the dance floor was packed for the entire show.

Starting off the night was Tyro a new resident DJ at Cervantes. Tryo got things going right away with some of his seizure bass music. Next up was Midnight Tyrannosaurus with jump drives of filth and two CDJ's to create a live mix. He, unlike many other live performers, uses no laptop to create his live mix. Both Tryo and Midnight Tyrannosaurus did a great job kicking off the night.

Jantsen was next and he brought a special guest MC along with him, Dirt Monkey. While Jantsen provided a killer mix, Dirt Monkey kept it hype on the mic, and he kept it cool up front with a CO2 gun. Jantsen has a wide range of styles which he transitioned between for a sick set. Jantsen is making a name for himself as a top notch producer, as is Dirt Monkey. The Colorado EDM scene is gaining a good reputation because of producers like Jantsen and Dirt Monkey.

Brown and Gammon would lead off a two hour block of British bass music. They are out of Essex, Britain and representing Circus Records one of the best labels in the UK. Circus Records was founded by Flux Pavilion, Doctor P, DJ Swan-E and Earl Falconer (of UB40). Will and Robin make up the band Brown and Gammon but live shows are done exclusively by Will. Robin is involved in the sound creation and studio recording aspects of the band. Live Will puts on an excellent show, his current set starts off with "The Force" an amazing opening track released just a few months ago. Brown and Gammon have a fresh chill style and also a hard dubstep style musically. They create a lot of new sounds out of vintage disco samples or make new noises intended to sound vintage. Brown and Gammon are a cutting edge EDM band with a bright future in the scene.

Roksonix would close out the show with a hard bass set. The band Roksonix is another duo, and they also come from Britain representing Circus Records. Guy and Phil make up the band, but for this show it was Phil only. They mostly represent a dubstep style, but some parts of the set Phil went into drumstep, drum and bass, and even some hardstyle beats. Roksonix does a great job at blending two songs together to create mash up style transitions. In the video above he starts by building up with his song "Feel Good", but then right at the end of the build he cuts to the drop of "Champagne Bop" by Doctor P. Roksonix completely slayed capping off an amazing Rebudz Presents concert at the Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom.

Jim Grim - "Staircase to Hell LP"

Jim Grim is probably a new name to most people, but with songs like his it's only a matter of time before he blows up. Jim Grim is from Norway a hot spot for excellent new EDM, with artists like Savant and Twistex also emerging from there. A similar style comes from all three as well, a sort of chiptune/dubstep. Jim Grim released "Staircase To Hell" on his own, unable to get backing from SectionZ Records, the label Savant and Twistex are signed with. Nevertheless the album is amazing with 14 unique tracks of multiple different EDM genres including glitch-hop, electro-house and dubstep. Check out Jim Grim's soundcloud page for more electrifying music, many of the his songs are available for free download.

TC - "Get Down Low EP"

OWSLA as usual is on top of the game with an amazing new release. This time it's a master of the underground drum and bass scene TC. Representing Bristol, Britain; TC has made a name for himself in many facets. He has a huge library of music with remixes of massive artists, and big names have remixed his music too. TC is also an excellent singer, he sings on some of his own music and he provided vocals for Pendulum’s debut album ‘Hold Your Colour’. In 2011 TC started his own label 'Don't Play' where he released a few singles changing genres a bit to dubstep and drumstep. For the new "Get Down Low EP" the junglist roots show through and a new genre is showcased, trap and bass. A faster version of trap that can be blended into drum and bass. Similar with how drumstep works with transitioning from dubstep to drum and bass. Definitely check out TC's new "Get Down Low EP", it was just released today on OWSLA the giant EDM label founded by Skrillex.

Excision and Space Laces - "Destroid 11 - Get Stupid"

http://alpha.fixtremix.com/_admin/uploaddemo/artists/uploads/20763-500.jpg
This is the latest from the 3 man robot super group Destroid. Excision and Space Laces come together again for this new song "Get Stupid". Destroid consists of Excision, Downlink, and KJ Sawka. The majority of the studio music production is done by Excision and Downlink, while KJ Sawka keeps the beat for the live shows as the drummer. Destroid has also collaborated with a number of other big names like: Bassnectar, Far Too Loud, Ajapai, and they have a handful of tracks with Space Laces. "Get Stupid" is a tough song to classify because the style keeps switching up. It starts out with a nice build up into a dubstep drop then back into another build but this time the drop is more like a hardstyle beat. After a few bars of hardstyle the beat switches back to a hardcore dubstep/drumstep tempo. The track simulates a live DJ set within a single song with constant changes and tweaks. "Get Stupid" is set to be released on Monday November 25th, make sure to check it out.
