This is a groove called "Saturday" performed live by Cut Copy. The band has evolved over the years and currently it is a group of four fellas: DJ Dan Whitford on vocals, keyboards and guitar; Tim Hoey on guitars; Ben Browning on bass guitar; and Mitchell Scott on the drums. OK Go - "Here It Goes Again" - Song of the Day - [5/19/15]

Here's a really cool video for the song "Here It Goes Again" by the group OK Go. These guys are all about choreographing clever visual displays for all of their music videos. This was the first big hit for the band, and this video went viral quick with 26 million plus views currently. GRiZ - "My Vision of Happiness" - Song of the Day (1/4/14)

One listen of this throwback GRiZ song will only make you appreciate the artist he has become today even more. This song goes into the category of Grants old tunes that came out around the time that his first studio album titled "End of the World Party" did in June of 2011. This song has a whole lot of funk with that electro-soul feel on it as one might expect from GRiZ. He's definitely come a long way since this track but it certainly has his recognizable and trademark sound as you might expect. With a new album coming in the spring of this year, we're patiently waiting new content from GRiZ and can't wait till it drops.

New Young Pony Club - "Ice Cream" - Song of the Day [12/9/14]

This is one of those few poppy bands that is too good to hate on. "Ice Cream" was the first New Young Pony Club song I ever heard, but it wasn't until later that I realized how cool a lot of their songs are. Tracks like "Get Lucky" and "The Bomb" convey a similar punk 80's new wave style that perfectly appeals to my nostalgia sweet tooth. All of the New Young Pony Club official videos are completely awesome utilizing throwback visual effects, with clever cuts and wipes. Gnarls Barkley - "Smiley Faces" - Song of the Day - 10/4/14

Gnarls Barkley is a super duo consisting of Danger Mouse and CeeLo Green. Together they created a modern form of soul music with a mo-town feel, while also using new age electronic styles. Danger Mouse is the production mastermind, and CeeLo is the vocal genius and a brilliant performer. In this video a story is told about the pseudonym Gnarls Barkley, and how he can be found at numerous historical events. It's not for real, but it's a clever way to use a documentary type of format for the music video. "Smiley Faces" is from Gnarls Barkley's debut album St. Elsewhere which blew up back in 2006 with the massive single "Crazy." Joe Jackson - "Steppin Out" - Song of the Day - [10-1-14]

I don't know why but this song always gets stuck in my head when I'm in a traffic jam. It's "Steppin Out" by Joe Jackson. The quick paced bass line is what catches my attention, it's a throwback tempo and pattern in the song. Similar to an old school film score, during a driving scene, where the tempo adds to the visual element of the story. Joe Jackson is a composer and he plays multiple instruments including saxophone and piano. "Steppin' Out" is from back in 1982, and it properly represents the new wave phase in the music scene which was huge in the 80's. This is also the official video for Joe Jackson's "Steppin Out" and it's still classy thirty years later.

Scott Hardkiss "Feet" - Song of the Day [2/13/2014]

San Francisco area Legend and one of the god fathers of the '90s rave scene, Scott Hardkiss (born Scott Friedel), passed away nearly a year ago at the age of 43.  He was truly one of the visionary producers of his generation and a loss to us all.  Commonly associated with his (non-biological) brothers Gavin and Robbie Hardkiss, their collaborations were underground rave gold.  This track, with all of it's groovy and odd sounds, is simply one of my favorites.  Not familiar with his stuff?  Check it all out on Soundcloud.  How can you not love the frogs, a personal favorite...
