This is a classic beat from the bombfunk MC's called "Freestyler" and a really cool music video. The rasta style lyrics are an added bonus too, everyone listens when you have a cool accent. This song reminds me of Roni Size and Reprazent, another electronic/hip-hop group from the same time frame, back in the late 90's. This video is really cool, chronicling the day of a boy who has an all powerful music player that can manipulate time and space. "Freestyler" is also used in the film Haggard a goofy story about a dude dealing with a break up. Haggard is one of a couple films created by Bam Margera and it's stars the late Ryan Dunn. Go peep more by the Bombfunk MC's for some sick old school, fast beat, electronic music.

Beck is one of the best producers/performers on the planet. He is never afraid to experiment with new ideas, and more often than not he succeeds in everything musically. This song "Hell Yes" is from Beck's album Guero an incredible record all the way through. Beck has so much variation from song to song, he goes from grungy punk rock, into some blues, and then all the way to full electronic compositions. He is always on the cutting edge with music, so make sure to keep up with Beck. Most of his amazing music catalog can be streamed here on spotify.
This is a really cool track by Hot Chip called "One Life Stand," there's really nothing else I know even similar to this song. I first heard Hot Chip about the same time that MGMT blew up, so I tend to lump the two bands together. They are both very out in left field, but every now and then a pop masterpiece emerges. Hot Chip is definitely a hipster type of band, but I mean that in a good way. This song has some really interesting lyrics to go with the amazing music. You can listen to a bunch more Hot Chip music via Spotify here.
I knew Fox Stevenson was going to get the honor of opening the show, so I made a point to arrive as early as I could make it to Red Rocks. There was no way I was going to miss Fox Stevenson's performance. The rest of the people also had this realization to arrive early and for the opening set nearly half of the amphitheatre was already full. I didn't know what to expect for a Fox Stevenson performance, having never seen him perform before and with a lot of his music involving his own vocals. Would he sing live, and DJ? For what I saw of this performance he did not sing, but who knows? Maybe he will incorporate singing into his live performances in the future on stage, because he is absolutely amazing in the studio as a vocalist.
Ookay would tag in next on the decks runnin' the trap and keeping it purple as fuck. His set was fresh with some trap remixes and dope hip-hop bangers. By the time Ookay went on the place was packed, the show didn't officially sell out but it must have been very close. No one was slacking off out in the parking lots, it was all business, bumping music off the rocks business.

Another bangin Elliphant remix comes to us from Stratus! Pullin out a bouncy dub sound that won't let you stand still. Stratus has been dropping a bunch of huge killer tunes lately and the streak seems to have only started! Check out more from Stratus below.

DJ Cutman is an elite video game music remixer/producer, podcast host, and he runs the record label called GameChops. This song "Overworld" comes from an awesome Zelda themed EP entitled Triforce of Bass and it has a number of other chiptune artists represented too, like Spamtron. DJ Cutman hosts a weekly podcast called This Week In Chiptune where he highlights the best in the electronic sub-genre. The podcast consists of mostly a mix of the newest chiptune bangers from all around the world. On the label Gamechops you will find a bunch of nostalgic video game music re-imagined and re-vamped with new crispy sounds. "Overworld" is one of my favorites because of three reasons, it's chiptune style, the Zelda music, and the moombahton tempo. Go check out more DJ Cutman, his label GameChops, and This Week In Chiptune for a constant stream of amazing music.
